Translation Process
To ensure the quality of its translations, Nitartha Institute follows these procedures:
Step One
A draft translation is prepared in close collaboration with Tibetan scholars
Step Two
This draft is taught and studied at Nitartha Institute. This includes:

Transmission of the oral teachings

Study, discussion, and debate by the students

Analytical meditation on passages from the texts

Development of study aids (charts, outlines, and debate materials)
- Clarification of difficult points and/or errors in the first draft
Step Three
The translation is finalized after:

Checking and editing
-
Further consultation with Tibetan scholars

Review by other translators
-
Formatting and design completed
Step Four
The translation is published.
Publications are made available to students at sessions of the Institute, and others around the world via post.
